"Reputation is an idle and most false imposition; oft got without merit, and lost without deserving." Somehow i feel Shakespeare is on to something in relevance to this. Also, from now on, ill try and include a relevant shakespeare quote with a photo. I feel up for a challenge.
That lonesome hammer is very suspicious... Could this be the work of clarkson?

I want Koenigsegg "dihedral synchro-helix" actuation doors.

those are just about the sexiest opening doors that ever have opened.
![]() 11/21/2013 at 11:57 |

Exactly! The more rice on the toyobarus, the better i feel about owning a honda. haha.

Eh, why the hell not?

Honda's still are seen as ricer mobiles. Its very sad.
I was at Strictly Import Motorsports the other day for a quick meet thing and this high school kid left in his Honda and stupid fart can, me and my friend just had to laugh at him.
![]() 11/21/2013 at 12:06 |

Yep. Which is why im having the hardest time finding an exhaust for the prelude as most of them sounds ricericebaby.
I lol at the ricers too. Not so much because i hate it, but because they care less what other people think and still put that fart cannon on their car.

Unfortunately with the stupid hell-fag fad that is going around, miata parts have become a little more rice. Whenever is see a hell-fag miata or a riced one i want to punch the owner in the face.

You just gotta wait for then to oversteer into something then buy their parts in the partout threads.

I had a feeling that this was going to happen. Low price point, and IMO, good looks garner people that don't have adaquete taste... Either way, mine will be a class act, hopefully.

I could see you rockin lambo doors. Imagine all the wiminz youll get!
![]() 11/21/2013 at 12:21 |

No don't do that!! I want to own mine for like 1073829 years, I would hate for it to become a ricermobile. Luckily, tons of people love to race these things, so it is probably going to end up being like the Miata, hopefully.

I never really got the point of Lambo doors on non- Lambo cars. 99% of the time it looks unnatural.

To be honest, it doesn't look as bad on the Toyobaru. Most of the time I'd call it a very "unnatural" look, but here, because of the classic sports car proportions, I'll say it works.

lol, i went to the gt86club forums and everyone there hates it.

One can hope. Nothing can dethrone the miata. It is always the answer....

dihedral synchro-helix all the cars!

lol, yes!
![]() 11/21/2013 at 16:15 |

Of course they do. Most Toyobaru owners believe their cars are better than everyone elses and are some sort of Holy relic.
I drive the riciest car of all, a Civic Si. It's decently quick, has a nice interior, handles like a dream, and is overall a great all around car. However, I don't have any misgiving about what it is. This thing is a modern Celica or AE86, and owners would be better off just accepting it.

I like the wheels on this one.

Lol im finding that its nots just toyobaru owners who are elitists. the 240 guys hate honda motors (even though they use the same 2.0liter), the subaru guys hate anyone without awd (except their bro Mr. BRZ). Honda guys hate anyone claiming fwd cars arent real car. Mazda owners seem to be the most chill, and the least hated and hateful group at the moment. They are pretty mature. Toyota owners... Well, i dont know why they want to be in the vicious circle..
You and i drive hondas. We acknowledge they are from the land of the rice. But we know, oem is not rice. Our cars are like a little rice seedling. It has the potential to grow into something very very rice like. But if we keep safe, and away from 'nutrients' the rice will never be seen.
the 86' platform is just that. Its a rice seed. Its not a supersports car, like some think it to be. (cause honestly, yours and my 205hp honda engines will give the 86's a good fight, even in the twisties)
I suppose they are just trying to deny it for as long as possible.... Poor saps. They dont know the tsunami of ricericebaby aftermarket parts thats going to hit shores soon enough. They are afraid of it becoming honda syndrome. Which will happen, but they gotta let it happen, cause there is no stopping it.

im just glad there are still people like us here on oppo. Where appreciation is simply for any car. These people exist in real life, but they can be kinda difficult to find unfortunately....

Well, on the Internet, everyone's right and everyone's anonymous. It's a bad combo lol
![]() 11/22/2013 at 21:23 |

Your right. Were both right! haha.
Im honestly okay with the fact we all have extreme ego's on the internet. I feel in a way it keeps more people in society sane, because they let their inner 'hater mind' run free online, and in the real world are able to remain civil.
Plus side, it makes for a great show.

Btw, how's the Lude?
![]() 11/22/2013 at 22:18 |

shes good. Trying to console my mind that she will survive the winter salt. She still as as peppy as ever. I pushed her pretty hard at the oppo meet cruise part if im honest. Spun my wheels for a good few seconds on a launch in 1st, and had little slip in 2nd. The way the revs hold at 7grand and the car shaking violently was something else. This is also the time of year i begin my stockpile of parts... coilovers, wheels, and random parts here i come.
Still enjoying your Si?
![]() 11/22/2013 at 22:46 |

Oh yeah. I've finally go it all straight and sorted out. Only oil changes and front tires from hear on out haha. Perfect fun DD.
![]() 11/23/2013 at 19:59 |

got it straightened out? wwhat happened to it?!?!
I envy your 6speed gearbox. You dont know how lucky you are.
![]() 11/23/2013 at 21:14 |
|
Well, first the dealership I bought it from destroyed the oil pan. Then the dealership that replaced the oil pan completely fucked the alignment (one wheel cambered completely in, the other completely out). Then once that all got fixed, I hit a big ass raccoon. The body shop that replaced my bumper ended up screwin up my intake so that VTEC couldn't engage properly. But now it's all fixed and will hopefully stay that way.
And yeah. I have no idea why the Prelude never got a 6-speed. As one of the few Hondas to actually possess torque, it woulda been perfect. Better 0-60 and better MPG.
![]() 11/23/2013 at 21:49 |

Balls man! Im curious how they destroyed an oil pan.... what required suspension adjustments for an oil pan replacement? Sorry to hear the unfortunate events with the dealer!
One less gear to break i suppose. haha. 0-60 is pretty quick though. And i could always swap out my 5th gear for an accord 5th gear and drop highway rpms significantly. Maybe when i do a trans rebuild in the distant future haha.
You should totally pick up a prelude. You would love it. But its funny, im starting to aquire a taste for a 2013 si coupe in white with white wheels lowered about an inch with a full lip kit.... Ive seen a few done up like that and honestly, its about the only civic i would touch. (id never sell the lude for it though haha).
![]() 11/23/2013 at 21:59 |
|
Oh, the suspension got screwed up because I got them to do an alignment with the oil change where they found the pan destroyed. They most greased the plug and then air tooled it in so that when they took it out it took the threads and part of the lip with it. Yikes.
And yeah, comin from the H22, the K24 is the next logical progression. I even read somewhere that the new Si felt more like a successor to the Prelude than to the older Sis or Integras.
![]() 11/24/2013 at 18:34 |

Air toolss.... They can be your best friend and your biggest enemy. Glad you got it all fixed up now. Now you just gotta limo tint your windows, and get some slick wheels, oh and those rain deflectors (i love those on the new body styles), and youre set!
The Si (coupe) has got 1 more horse, 14 more torques, and 100 less pounds (80 less in the sedan). Im very curious to have a run against one to see if it possible to keep up with one in the twisties. Obviously, it should have the run on me in a straight line. But its close. Even the Si coupe with 2 extra doors is only 20 pounds heavier. That to me is surprising!
![]() 11/24/2013 at 18:40 |

You probably could. I've heard the 2012 Si got pretty soft. Maybe the 14 got its act together though lol.
